How we work
One path, from your first visit to sign-off. Six short steps, no surprises.

Free feasibility visit
30 to 40 minutes at your home. We look at your roof, work out where the stairs go, and talk you through the process. We may have built a loft just like yours many times before, but we treat every loft individually and listen to your needs.

Your written quote
You get a written quote. With so many satisfied customers, we can arrange for you to visit a finished loft, so you can see for yourself that Lordan's is the right company for you.

Drawings
Once you decide to go ahead, our in-house architect, Simon Burrows, visits to measure up, which takes about an hour. Drawings follow in one to two weeks, and Mark goes through them with you, including whether permitted development applies or you need planning. We then request a small deposit to cover the cost of the architect's drawings.

Your start pack
The office sends your contract and start pack two weeks before the start. Payments are staged through the contract. The first main payment is only due once the scaffold is up and materials are on site.

The build
Mark is on site the first morning to introduce the crew. Every crew is trained by us, not bought-in subcontractors. Our team, our standards, our quality. We project manage every trade. The first half of the build is done from the outside, and your new stairs go in at the end of that stage.

Snagging and sign-off
Snaggy Dave carries out a dedicated snagging visit and meets the building inspector, so you don't have to wait in. After the building control final, you get your warranty.
No need to move out during the build
Most major building work disrupts your living space from day one. A loft conversion is different. The first half of the build is done from the outside, and the breakthrough only comes at the end of that stage, when your loft crew install your new stairs.
